Internet Safety

The internet is a fantastic resource that supports learning and enables communication.  At Heathryburn School, our  children are taught, and encouraged, to make safe use of the internet to enhance their learning experiences and develop a range of digital literacy skills.

Although internet use in school is rigorously supervised to prevent children accessing inappropriate content, it can be difficult to monitor this at home.  With most children having access to a range of mobile technology, it is important that parents and carers have up-to-date information about how to support, and monitor, their child’s personal internet use.

To support discussions about internet use, and safety, at home, National Online Safety have produced a range of posters with “Need to Know” information about a range of apps and websites your child may use:

Fifa

Fortnite

Grand Theft Auto

Houseparty

Instagram

Kik

LiveMe

Minecraft

MOMO Challenge

Snapchat

Tik Tok

Twitch

Twitter

WhatsApp

YouTube

Yubo
